Hi guys, I had a colonoscopy and just received my letter to say they found some reactive lymphoid hyperplasia, anyone had this outcome? They said if my problems become worse then they will investigate my small bowel but don't want to give me too much radiation as I'm only 22.

Hi Bunty 97. Have you been diagnosed with IBD?

Hi Miti333, no my consultant wasn't too sure what it was but she gave me Mebeverine to trial, but I don't seem to tolerate it

What are your symptoms? I have difusse and nodular lymphoid hyperplasia to my terminal ileum and colon and my doctor said it is normal. Have your doctor gave you more details?

I've had a change in bowel habit, bloating, cramps and some pain throughout the day associated with it, they haven't really said much to be honest, just got to see a dietitian and see how I get on in the future

Thank you Bunty. I have a pain in my right lower quadrant. Is your pain in the same place or is different? Did you have biopsies or just colonoscopy? They found me diffuse and nodular hyperplasia on terminal ileum and large intestine but with biopsies taken. Macroscopally the intestines looked normal.

My pain is generally in the right but can be across the lower area all together, I had a colonoscopy with biopsies and they said everything looked normal but this was found through the biopsies

Do you have any autoimune diseases, Bunty?

I have chronic fatigue syndrome, which is sort of classed as autoimmune but don't have any sort of treatment for it

Thank you Bunty. It might be normal at your age. You are young . I had calprotectin at 400.

Yes, I think that's probably why, my calprotectin was 560 that's why I was referred for a colonoscopy, I'm hoping it's just something that will settle down.

I hope, too. Unfortunately there is not something to say:That 's it,everything is all right! You just have to wait and see what will happening in the future.
