Constipation!!!!

Hi all, I don't really know how to broach this. I have been taking Budesinide for microscopic colitis, and it's working alright...I am now constipated. I had horrific diarhoea and ended up in hospital for two days suffering from dehydration. I feel so much better now, but am not sure what to do about constipation. I know I have to keep taking the Budesinide, but can I take normal medicine for constipation with this medication? Tried phoning gastro nurse but they have gone home for weekend. This is trivial I know, and laughable...but I don't know what to do. Any tips would be appreciated!!

How may mgs are you taking and how long have you had it? I put flaxseed in my oatmeal and drink coffee. MYbe call the pharmacy where you got your budesonide

Thanks for the advice Jennyhadenough. I have been taking the meds for two weeks, 9mg daily. I hadn't thought to contact pharmacist! Thanks again. Hope you are feeling well.

I would contact the pharmacist, and ask them and consider a mild natural laxative like Senna. I would contact my GI nurse ASAP, as I wouldn’t want to take a laxative for too long.
