Confusing colonoscopy : Basically u... - Crohn's and Colit...
Confusing colonoscopy

The results will be for the biopsies taken, its normal to have biopsies taken during a colonoscopy to make sure there's nothing serious going on.
Thanks just one Dr told me crohns but the guy who did colonoscopy said nothing at all too me just this report
Dr may have queried crohns as calprotectin over 150. however if internal haemorrhoids are inflammed this could give a raised reading as the test identifies inflammation in the bowel. The biopsies will be studied to see if there is microscopic inflammation etc that would identify crohns, as well as looking for other changes in cells that may indicate other illnesses
The diagnosis is Haemorrhoids. It would state Crohn’s in the diagnosis section if they suspected Crohn’s, they would also request further tests (it looks like they haven’t). Haemorrhoids, would increase your calprotectin levels and cause rectal bleeding/blood in stools. They aren’t spectacularly raised at that level. I would imagine they will discuss treatment for the haemorrhoids in 6 weeks.
