High Calprotectin??

Hey! I’ve had a faecal calprotectin test done and it came back at 1,260. Am I wrong to be super anxious ? I had a colonoscopy last week and am waiting to hear the results but was just wondering if I should be worried or just calm myself down 😭😭

Hi there im currently under investigation my self for ibd and it's a worrying time isn't it? Your result is an high one and means there is active inflamation in the bowels. What did the scope find?

They found signs of inflammation in the colon and ileum and took some biopsies which I found out next week how those are

Hi don’t panic , it is fairly high but my daughter has had over 1000 when she has been on lots of medication for proctitis. Hers is moderate proctitis and just in the rectum area and a tiny bit above.

It just means you must have a lot of inflammation there.

They will treat it and find out why.

they should have told you at the endoscopy whether it looked inflamed? generally if it looks awful they will admit you and treat you with IV steroids. SO maybe the fact they haven't is good news.
