Colonoscopy prep

How long does it usually take for a persons bowl to be cleaned out after taking prep and 3 laxative pills.

Depends on the prep and how your body reacts but could be up to 24 hours or so.

The prep that I’m taking this time is weird, it’s called Picoprep and I’m supposed to dissolve one sachet of the prep into 150ml of water. A glass at 5pm, then another one at 7pm and the final one is 4 hours before the procedure (my colonoscopy is at 9AM) Plus 3 laxative pills at 3PM....

I feel like it won’t work well 🤔

Sounds like an explosive combination ! I've only ever had prep, no extra laxatives, good luck.

I’ve always had extra laxatives, I think that’s what works best for me.

Anyway the new prep worked just fine, and it didn’t tire me out like the prep that I used to take 😄👍🏼

That wouldn’t work for me, I take 3 sachets of cleanprep spaced out over several hours, which is each disssolved in 1 litre of water and I start at 1pm the day before and continue to visit the toilet up til 10pm. I then take nothing the next day as usually have procedure in the morning. Ive had several procedures abandoned because my colon wasnt clear enough which is awful so I always ask for 3 sachets to make sure.
