Does anyone find that the first 90 second run after the warm up really hurts?
I felt great towards the end of my run but it starts badly. Looking forward to the next run.

Yes, I think a huge bunch of us feel terrified and shattered as each new section dawns .... But like you, we get through them and bounce onwards. Any hurt is probably your body complaining that you've got it off the couch Things will settle as you run and relax and gradually train it for new outings.
So glad you remain positive about the next one...you will find in the weeks ahead that mind-set becomes as important as developing stamina. You'll do just great!
Cheers, Linda
Yes, I find it takes me 5 minutes or more to settle into a ryhthm and gradually all the achey bits settle down and breathing gets into a pattern. I had a 3 week rest from injury recently. On my first run back I did W1R1 and found that super hard because I couldn't 'settle' my breathing! Much easier now back up to longer runs.
It is early days and for some (me included) it takes some time to find our rhythm. your body will get used to it physically and mentally - good luck to you -
I still find the first 5-10 minutes are really hard and nearly always want to stop and walk. I have to remind myself that I can run further than this and then it all seems to fall into place and I find 'the zone', it's not easy after this but it's easier and I don't think I'll ever have an easy run but my body takes over and gets on with it while I battle with my mind which still doesn't think I can run!
It's definitely a mental battle this running lark!
I'm a bit like Khrissy but it's the first 12 - 15 minutes for me After this everything settles - it's as though my body is still rebelling against doing this but eventually it gives in and thinks, 'oh, go on then!'
You'll get there - just keep going, slow and steady. All the best with it - keep blogging and let us know how you get on.
