Can we get team totals for 5x50?

I know they've been having technical problems but I can't find anything on the 5x50 website which gives us a team total or a more accessible summary. Looks like you can only look at each member's log, Has anyone found soemthing more useful?

I tried to find this yesterday without any success.

No unfortunately not. The question was asked somewhere and apparently the programming to enable this to happen would have cost too much. Maybe every 10 days we each could state our running total and a mathematically inclined C25K-er could do the sums...?

They can't do this unfortunately as it costs them too much to set up. They are just a small outfit at the moment but this has taken off in such a big way. There are other things they wanted to set up like linking to other tracking sites but couldn't because of costs. The only way to view is as you say by looking at each individual.

Well. Throw down a challenge like that... How could I resist. :P

The left hand column of the team totals 339km so far (but some may be duplicates still that haven't been deleted from yesterday, and some people have missed off their distances - so maybe they even out). That took ten minutes to click on each person and add up all the totals, so not that long really - I'd guess the right hand column is probably fairly similar - so about 680 km altogether so far.

10.6 km each on average. Only a few people haven't put any data on yet - and some of them may be away/ill. So, a good start everyone!

Hmm - I'm not sure this would actually cost very much - assuming they have a database, they should have each member in a team. From there, it's a simple task to get the total for each member, then add them up. I'd say half an hour's work tops?

How about I do something using the public data - I can 'grab' the data and work out the total. Leave it with me and I'll try to get time to do that over the next couple of days.

I was just kidding. It always seems that when anyone outs their skill or speciality on a forum, they are then inundated with requests for help! If you could do something that pulls all our info off without Greenlegs having to sit there every night with an a abacus then that would be brilliant :D

Hi team,

I just put in my day 3 activity and it has duplicated it. I deleted and reloaded the page but then it duplicated a different day.... something strange going on but please be careful if you're copying entries from the screen!

Good luck and thanks stats people - it'll be good to see how we're doing collectively.

Yeah, one of my friends doing this (not as part of our team) said she had problems logging her info this morning, so I guess they still have a few glitches to iron out.

Related to the team total, I would love to know this too! It is so motivating to see the big overall total and knowing I am contributing to it, so it would be great to see how we're doing!

It's great that Malcy's offered to do a tot up of where we are so far, but it would be amazing if we did this regularly throughout the 50 days and post say, weekly updates on here. I'm certainly not suggesting we burden you with it Malcy! We could have a team rotation system, so Malcy sets up a spreadsheet to log where we are so far (if that's ok?) and then some of us take on monitoring and logging it for a bit each? I would be more than happy to do a week (or longer if we have few volunteers ;) ) I love stats and this is right up my street! It would be really interesting to see what other activities people are doing, average distances etc. You never know, the C25K admin may even be interested in the data (even if they were not interested in joining us in the challenge :)

Any takers? Greenlegs?

Actually I'll also post this as a question to get more visability to it.
