Looks like I'm going to have to hang up my running shoes :'(

Hi all,

I have been advised to stop running due to my uterine prolapse! I am absolutely devasted to say the least :'( the advise is to atleast wait until I've seen the gynaecologist in May but I think I'm going to have to call it a day and try something else that's low impact ie swimming! Trouble is that's not free and I don't have Laura in my ear telling me I can do it!!

Many thanks to everyone who has commented on previous blogs and questions, it makes it so much easier knowing there's a wealth of advice ready at your finger tips from people who have been there and got through the other side!

Also good luck to all of you who are continuing with this amazing journey to find a healthier you and congratulations to all of you who have completed the program and are now moving on :)

Xxxxx

Awwww heck, poor you! I had the scare of a similar problem some years ago, and was actually advised that some exercises might help the situation. I do hope your gynae will help you out soon: you may not have to give up all hopes of C25K if she/he is sympathetic to your cause. Please don't be devastated... Hang on to your dreams cos we'd love to see you back on here again one day. Get well soon X

:-( Praying you will eventually be able to continue on and you have complete healing. Please let us know what you find out. Please also try to stay positive and hopefully all will work out like it should. Gayle

So so sorry to hear this :( I really hope the gynae can give you some positive news and we will see you back here. I would feel devastated too after finding something I really enjoy but you need to heed the expert's advice..... Take care! :)

oh no! so sorry to hear but I hope you manage to get things right and that you are able to get back in to your running shoes. see what the gynae says, all may not be lost, but it may take time. Best wishes x

Sorry to hear that :( Is there a chance that you can get back to it at a later date? I know a few people that have had successful surgery to repair a prolapse. Fingers crossed that things start looking better after you've seen the gynae.

Don't lose sight of those running shoes. I had a very severe prolapse 4 years ago, had the surgery December then decided the following August I needed badly to lose weight. I checked with my doc who gave me the all clear and started running. I have had the odd break due to sciatica and odd pulled muscle but will have been running 3 years this August. So don't give up the hope of being a runner one day and we'll (hopefully) be here when you start out again.

Swimming will be good for you for the time being but if you have enjoyed your running ask if you will be able to get back to it. Pilates is another very good exercise but classes are quite expensive these days. I hope you get things sorted very soon its not a nice condition to be suffering with. All the best, take care.

Really sorry to hear that. I hope that oldgirl's comments might give you some encouragement, though obviously not everyone is the same. But maybe we will see you again sometime. Very best wishes.

Very sorry to hear this, how disappointing for you. I hope that you will get good news from your gynaecologist and be able to resume running in due course.
