Well I've been to the USA for a couple of weeks and my it sure was nice to run in shorts and a short-sleeved top, on one occasion it was 20 degrees C at 7.30 AM. I'm so looking forward to spring I'm not bothered if its not really warm, I'd be happy with say 8 or 9 degrees anything that allows less wrapping up.
Bit different to the weather on landing back in Manchester on Friday and today and my first run back home for a 12K in what must have been 2 degrees C in the wind from the Irish Sea. Bbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Looking forward to work on Monday, I know a bit sad, but i can't wait to find out how a couple of colleagues got on with W5R3.
Welcome back Phil! Yes Gayle mentioned that it had been unseasonably warm in her neck of the woods last week but back to cold again now......I can't wait for a bit of warmth too so the layers can come off!
So lovely that your work running club has been going for nearly 6 weeks now! You will feel like a proud daddy when they excitedly tell you about their 20 min run!! Hope it went well for them.
If you were in Arizona, you probably did enjoy some warm running! We visited there last year and hoped for heat...they had a cold spell come through and we needed jackets. This Winter we went to Florida for a few days. Guess what? The cold followed us again! As Sue mentioned, we here in Kansas had record breaking heat a few days last week. This weekend we are back to snow/ice/bitter wind. Bring on Spring!!! Glad you had a nice time and hope the co-workers did well while you were away!! Gayle
You definitely a little unlucky with your vacation weather
Was dead chuffed when I got back as was my colleague, she had breezed through W5R3 and W6R3 so starts W7 today. I remember her worrying about starting W4 and the big step up, what an achievement
A couple of others are having to take short break due to injury I remember that feeling, but will be out again soon.
Glad you had a good holiday Phil, if your anything like me, I'm still feeling it very cold after coming back from 30C in Cuba. Like you it was lovely to run in very little clothing!!!
Not many people would be looking forward to getting back to work, it just shows what a really smashing advert you are to this program having started up your own little work group. I hope they are all doing well and have not faltered in your absence. Nice to have you back.
Love the states, such a vast and varying land, also one where we have a shared language, but still struggle to be understood
