Today's run was not the best due to horrid weather (by the end I looked like a snowman -_-) and distance wise I was a bit behind my last run, however it wasn't the worst run ever, and I completed it.
As someone on my last blog said, I am definitely falling for running!!
I realised it today when my podcast ended and I still had about 5/10mins walking left until I got home. Automatically my iPod plays the podcast from the week before. It was so strange hearing Laura saying "Hello, I'm Laura and welcome to week 3" and me thinking, "maannn I did this week!" It's hard to describe but it was like some kind of realisation of how far I've come. I'm halfway through the programme! In 4 weeks time I'm going to be running for 30 mins. WOW.
Sorry to end on a kinda gross note, but I need your guys help please! When I run I'm getting this kind of thick liquid in my mouth, almost like saliva, but thicker. I got it a lot on week 1 and it's kind of died away a bit now. Anyone know what this is? And what should I do - spit it out or ignore it?
Anyway thank you all for being so supportive, hope you have a great week

Hi Olivia - well done! What dedication, running in the snow! I am a complete novice so this sounds like real pro stuff to me. Re the spitty thing - I read on someone else's blog that they had the same problem and there was a comment that it was related to hydration. I think the other blogger just spat it out, but I guess that depends on where you are running, and with whom! Perhaps there is a 'spit' tag, or 'running problems' tag you can look at?
I have the same problem. My husband actually laughed when I told him I finally understand why those soccer players always spit to the ground. I always thought its disgusting and I never understood why they do it. Now I know. I have tried to do the same thing, but what can I say I am not good at it. Don't want to go to much in detail, but let me tell you the spit never hits the ground. So I actually bring an extra tissue on every run which I will use if needed.
Well done, running in the snow...Time for spring to show up!
Don't blame the UK, it is not much better here in Germany My advice is spit it out, there might be other bloggers out there who also have experience with that, but I just always think its nasty and all I want to do is get it out.
No snow yet, but it is on its way. I will prob wake up and see the white streets tomorrow morning. I hear you, I miss the sun, I think we all have done enough running in the cold, do we ever find out how it feels with the sun out ?
