My sainted aunt, that was hard work.

After a very stressful 9 hour working day spent with 12 very exasperating eating disordered patients I was already tired. But, I said I'd go, so I went.

Week 6 run 2, that's the 10 plus 10 session. Even though I've already done the 20 minute run, I was still irrationally nervous about this one. Turns out I was right to be. I found it REALLY hard work. I was so slow at one point, when going up a barely noticeable slope, that I had to look down and check that my legs were actually still moving. Despite how hard I found it though, I did it. I wasn't quite back where I needed to be in order for my 5 minute warm down to get me back to my car, so I even morphed the second 10 minute run into a 12 minute one.

25 minutes next . Oh good god!!

Fantastic news! Running and morphing to order! And you thought you were tired!

25 mins, not a problem for one with such skill.

All the best to you.

Dale

So you ran for 22 minutes total? Impressive, especially when worn out before you started. That does make a huge difference - not to be underestimated.

Take care. :)

Well done. I love that you had enough in the tank for an extra 2 minutes run. Sorry to say, but I would have walked further (and did) on my 6r2.

Really good luck with the next one. It is hard, but I am sure you can do it based on your performance whilst already tired. I agree with greenlegs, it makes a huge difference both physically and mentally. The latter being the thing that allows you to stop!

Laura said that 5r3 was all in the mind and I think she was right. You are through that, so should be a walk (run) in the park!

Thanks guys. After reading your comments I'm beginning to think that maybe I can do it, even if I do go so slowly that I'm going backwards!

Flipping heck! Well done you for sticking at it and getting through to such a crucial stage. I'm stuck at the 5 minute running and going for 10 seems nigh on impossible! But, all these lovely graduates and people above us in the program have done it, so why not us? :-)

Keep running m`dear!

Ali

I found the 10x2 harder than the 20, I still find breaks in running (for traffic etc) breaks my rhythm & intervals hard for the same reason. I'm fine as long as I just keep going.... You might well find the longer runs not as hard once you build your running rhythm & get into that zone. Here's hoping you do! :-)
