Last Saturday I went for a run in the snow. On Monday school was shut so I brought my Tuesday morning run forward and went for another run in the snow (then followed it up with 4 1/2 hours of snow clearing (first at home, then at school) and the best gym workout for ages!! Glutton? Me?). Back on track, Thursday morning is run morning.
The snow has cleared from the roads, but still laying icy on the footpaths (apart from the great heaps where people have cleared their driveways and piled it up in my way). So I can't get out wearing my spiky things as there's not enough snow/ice and I can't get out without the spiky things coz I can't do a whole run on the roads. So it was back to the treadmill!
All I can say is that this must be a good book I've got on the iPod as it wasn't as boring as it has been in the past, just bl**dy knackering! I never got past that first 5 minutes of feeling I couldn't do it, even when I was 12 minutes into the run! In the end I walked 5 minutes, ran 12, walked 1, ran 4, walked 5, then came indoors for a cold shower (bl**dy teenagers pinching all the hot water when they should have been on the bus to school an hour ago!).
I did a personal best though! According to the treadmill I ran 11.7K in that 27 minutes!!! Anywhere near the world record???
Course it could have been a major treadmill glitch!
