Done, done done! I did it. Week 9 run 3 done! Can't believe it. Me, the total non-runner. Now to get the speed up. Am no were near 5k. I am American so I talk in miles. Think I only ran just over 2 miles today. But will keep at it. Yeah!! :)

Well done Mary -a great achievement! It must feel really wonderful. I've just started so it is lovely to hear of your success.

I'm also thinking in miles because I went to school way before the metric system and we talk about miles when we drive. How far is 5k in miles anyway?

Good luck with increasing your speed.

3.2 miles! I'm an American, but my hubby is into math/measurements, he clued me in. :-) Gayle

Well, don't quote me, Norni, but I reckon it is 3 miles. Perhaps someone will set us straight on that. Good luck, you will end up loving it. I have.

Woohoo! Well done :)

Yes, 5k is about 3 miles. I'm getting the hang of this metric thing too.

Fantastic Mary! It is so good to hear when people finish that graduation run.

5km is about 3.2 miles. I've always thought in miles too, but now I know what 5k looks like as I've measured it out on a map on a route near my house. Though I suppose there's nothing magical about 5k really, is there?

I've just got a book in the post - Chi Running - and am really liking what I've read so far. It's all about 'effortless, injury-free running' which sounds just what I'm after! It has a definite focus on good form, and running with a smile, rather than going for speed with a grimace!

Congratulations on making it. Well done.

5K is approximately 3.1 miles unless you want to be really pedantic and go to further decimal places

I was somewhat despondent about the distance I covered, but I now feel I'm making progress. Keep at it.
