Hello everyone, last year I started the couch to 10k a few times and got to about week six and had to stop because of a very sore ankle/ankles. On 1st January I was five years sober so my gift to myself was to buy the couch25k app on my phone and get back on my treadmill. I did run one on Tuesday and plan to run Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. It's good to be giving myself some self care.....one run at a time! Apart from sore bum cheeks all is good :-D

Hi Diana and welcome to C25K. I hope you succeed this time but its all about taking your time and letting the body adapt. I am afraid sore bits are all part of it whether it be feet ankles shins etc. I am on W5 but have stepped the mileage up as i want to run a half marathon

in March and i have sore inner thighs/ groin. You will get used to it. Good luck, Ed x

Welcome back! If you have the determination to stay off alcohol I am sure you can get running - maybe take it a bit slower this time and let your body warn you if you're overdoing it (we're not all aiming for half marathon, just yet - I do admire Ed's determination, but I'd rather go slower and without risking injury!)

Congratulations on the sobriety and taking the steps to begin the program again! You mentioned getting into the later weeks when the ankle pain started. Do you have decent trainers? Sometimes it is a wise investment to go have your feet/gait analyzed to make sure your wearing proper shoes. As far as pain just starting out...yep! Your a soon to be runner! WELCOME! Gayle

Thank you all! I am tucked up in bed with a Cup of tea knowing I have my second run of week one to do as soon as I have finished! It's my birthday next month so I may treat myself to a gait test and new shoes !
