My NY resolution was of course to get back into running properly. What with a bad chest cold, hip problems and odd shifts at work, I hadn't run regularly since the end of October, and all of a sudden I couldn't even run for 20 minutes. This really depressed me - we spend all this time and effort getting up to the 30 minutes, and then to lose it all (as it felt) was upsetting.
This morning was a beautiful crisp, sunny day, so off I went to the heights. I drove for 30 minutes to run for 20, but never mind - it was fantastic. No one else in sight, sun, frost, sheep and the Iron Age fort all to myself. It would have been quite easy to tell myself I could start tomorrow instead, but I'm really glad I went out there.
I hope you all have a good next run, wherever and whenever that is, and for those of you recovering from injury, all the best for a speedy recovery. This programme is amazing, but even better is all the support and help and humour you all bring to it - thank you all, and may you have a happy and healthy 2013.
