Big thanks to you guys for all your responses to my post yesterday.
So, I got out there today and loved my run. It was one of my slowest runs. Deliberately so. This wasnt about pace, it was all about understanding what I could do after 3 weeks of not running.
A slow, leisurely run in warm sun and clear blue skies. Just what I needed. I even took the advice from Speedy60 and ran without music for a change. It was quite refreshing.
In the end, I ran for 44 minutes. I was hoping I could still manage 30, but would have settled for 20. So I was overjoyed to run for so long.
So, I'm officially back. Going to give myself a couple of days to recover and then I'll be back on my Tues, Thurs, Sat schedule.
As for my plan to move up to 10k. Well, it's still my aim, but I'm going to have another week of doing 5k and then I'll start the Magic 10 plan again from week 1.
Happy running everybody!

Good to hear from you that you enjoyed your 44 minutes run today, 44 minutes is actually the third run of week 3 of Ju Ju's Magic 10, however, you only ran that because you were enjoying your run so much.
No hurry for you to start the Magic 10, just start it when you are ready.
Brilliant, sounds like the break has dine you good actually! I ran for the first time without music but listened to a running podcast posted on the forum yesterday and it made an interesting change. Good to have a change sometimes.
You my friend, are like Forrest Gump. It doesnt matter what city, country or continent you're on. Rain, shine or freezing weather, you just run and run and run 😆🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Yeah! That’s great and good idea to rest a bit. For one reason or another running seems to be constantly about comebacks! Hope you have a fun journey to 10km
I like to take a week off every couple of months as I find I start to get a bit jaded around that point. My first runs back after my rearview are inevitably when I set my PBs so it probably has some practical good for the legs as well as the mindset.
Good luck with the 10k plan, I'm sure you'll smash it.
Oh I did wonder where u went! Had to go back and read ur previous post to find out haha! Glad ur better and how amazing to have a family trip to NY! 44 mins is awesome so huge well done. I’m just starting week 2 tomorrow so just a short one for me. Great to have u back 👍🏼
Good luck with week 2. I used that short run to really push myself hard. 5 mins of normal running, then back to intervals, switching between fast and slightly slower than normal.
I think it helps, and it feels like a really short run.
Glad to hear that you back and that the run went well. Lovely to read about your trip also. Keep up the pace, you’re in this for the long haul (hopefully) so slow and steady! Nice to have you back!
Well done on getting back out there. It's hard, I had nearly 4 weeks off. But hopefully back on it now. Had longer slower run in wind today, app gave up. So ran for nearly 35 mins. Think I'll just stick with 5k. I know my limits. Good luck with next ste
Welcome back RunningMigster , I've been missing your posts! Blimey, so you went out there and nailed a 44 minute run when you 'finally decided to have another go' after a prolonged (but well earned) rest! Well done mate, you're obviously a natural at this, congratulations!
I'm still here! Work has been all consuming for the last few weeks though. Long hours and 7 days a week. Feel like I'll almost have to start again at run1 week 1.
