Can i really do an 8k run this christmas???

I don't know... but I'm curious to find out!
I can do 5K pretty reliably now. Working on my speed for the moment, and am planning to to the Bridge to 10K programme after New Years.
Good luck!

i will let u know ironmatt how it goes good luck 2 u 2 with 10K

Of course you can! If you can run 5k, you can run 8k - just keep on with the running and give it your best shot! I know you can do it (listen, if I can do 10k when 4 months before I could barely run for a minute - then you are going to totally rock it!).

You will be able to but don't worry if you need to take some breather walks for 1 minute or so then wou will manage.
I am able to do 10-12km doing this.
the wife bought a head torch as a present brilliant, it wasn't expensive and has given me my original run back , I had to alter my route to try to allow for the dark evenings, just a thought.

I think I would try and get in one outdoor run a week and try and to add no more than a km each week. Don't be afraid to take walk breaks on the 10k, I usually do, depending on how good I'm feeling, and it doesn't necessarily slow you down overall - others will almost certainly be doing the same. Start off a little more slowly than you do for a 5k run so you don't wear yourself out early on. Above all, enjoy it !
