Just signed up ready for the challenge

Have looked at c25k before but after walking 26 miles in September for charity I've decided to sign up.

I'm not a natural runner but am hoping to get out of the rut I've found myself in.

Primary goal is fitness but I know my bmi is high and am looking forward to some weight loss too. Just need to dig out my iPod .... Wish me luck.:-)

Good luck! I did my first run this morning and really enjoyed it. It was tough but not tough enough to put me off completely. I haven't done any running since school so I'm a total rookie as well.

Welcome and well done! It is a great programme! Dont be upset if you dont lose lots of weight though, losing weight is said to be 80% diet 20% moving more and some people (I found out about C25K on the weightwatchers website so there is lots of discussion on there!).

Some people eat more when they start exercising more and dont realise that although it is challening the short bursts of running dont actually burn that many calories!

I would however suggest you take your measurements before you start (especially hips and thighs!) and then redo them every few weeks. I have stayed the same weight since June but have gone down a trouser size :-)

Best of luck Rosie! You will be fine and as Oona says, follow the programme, take it slow and though some of it will feel more challenging than other times it does work. Sue
