I put me running gear on the radiator to warm them up a bit it was that cold outside i thought I needed at least to do that before I braved outside. brrrrrrrr...... so, strapped in and very cosy, I set off.
my route takes me through a couple of housing estates. I had to dodge a fair few spent fireworks which were coming back down to earth! christ alive I never expected that!! still, made me sure as hell run faster!
my first and second runs this week were, well, pretty pants really. But this one, although very hard, I completed every single second of the podcast. yep, I didnt cheat for a second.
I still found my breathing hard and at points my phlegm was gushing like that slimey thing off Ghostbusters!! The last run felt like I was dragging a tonne of bricks with each step and I was sweating that much I felt my freckles would melt, but I carried on.
I made it home and tripped over my front door step! it mustve been those tonne of bricks dragging me down
so, im sat here eating my french toast supper and having a little drinkie poo in celebration.
I completed week two and although it may seem trivial to some, i did it and i feel EPIC!!
keep on running everyone!!

cheers!! i enjoyed the toast (may have had a bit of choccie spread on too - yum yum!) and also the drinkie poo! seems to be my end of week tradition that drinkie poo....
fireworks are still going where I am. bloody things. theyre not so much sparkle and flare but "booooom" and "boooommmmmm"!! driving me and the cats nuts. If I werent so sore I'd get up and get meself a medicinal nightcap, but as it is, im pooped so the radio will have to try muzzle the noise!
Nothing you do on this thing we're putting ourselves through (!! LOL !!) is ever trivial AuntieAli - don't ever, ever think that of what you're achieving again. We ALL feel so amazed with every little step we've conquered and what you've done is truly brilliant. The fact is, with this programme, we are all changing our concepts of ourselves in what we can do against the odds. I for one think what you've managed with UFO's flying about - is magnificent... WELL DONE and keep on truckin', cheers, Sara x
Hi AuntieAli - I'm so relieved you took my post the way it was intended. After I'd submitted I thought "ooh, did that sound rather Sergeant Majorish?" !!!! Anyway, really I think this programme is wizard - really, especially for those of us in our 50's and up it's nothing short of a miracle. However we end up - whether we're 10k a day people or just sticking to the humble 30 minutes 3 times a week - the fact that we're out there stopping our arteries from clogging up and having fun (well - translate that how you will LOL !) at the same time has to be something to celebrate at whatever level.
I face W8 tomorrow and feel like it is going to be a really horrendous slog and am dreading it BUT... I will manage it - somehow. 'See you' later, Sara
Well done, AuntiAli! It's hard to go out into the cold, but so worth it when you warm up a bit, isn't it? Glad your run went well (apart from the gruesome phlegm....). In the C25k+ podcasts, Laura says quite rightly that the only bad run is one which doesn't happen! (I probably misquote her but that's the gist).
Yum about the French toast, haven't had that for ages. One day soon when I've notched up a lot of exercise... I can't say the same for a little drinky, having had several over the weekend.
