Hi all! Those of you who are regulars on this forum will know I'm not a blogger - I never have anything out of the ordinary to report. I started C25k at the end of August with my reluctanthusband (I had to bully him a bit to join me!) and have had an uneventful passage through the programme, doing exactly what I was told to do and taking extra rest days when I've needed them.
So I'm now proud to report that reluctanthusband completed Stranraer 10k in an amazing time of 59 mins and 6 seconds! This from the man who had to be blackmailed into starting the programme 2 months ago! The atmosphere round the track was great and has encouraged me to think about trying the step up to 10k whereas I was quite happy to sit at 5k and reduce my time.
For anyone out there who is thinking about starting this brilliant programme or is struggling a bit and doubting whether they can complete it, just go for it! Good luck to everyone out there and thank you for all the lovely, inspiring blogs which keep us both going!

Such fantastic news oona! Your hubby is an inspiration and tell him we are so happy for his achievement! Amazing how we can progress when we set our minds to it! I foresee a 10k in your future! Gayle
Thanks, janda. He was really surprised with his time - the furthest he had gone before this had been 9.1k and that was over some of this course but without the rather steep hill which most people power walk up!
Ohhhhh God, THANKS A MILLION Oona... You have just prepped me up. I feel tired and took 2 days, instead of 1 because i just seem to have lost a bit of oomph and am facing W8R1 tomorrow and honestly... I am really not sure whether I'll manage it. So your post is wonderful and so inspiring. You always write such down to earth, lovely posts so as fast as I'm concerned, in my short time around this forum, everything you have written has always been of interest sooooo thank you and God luck with the 10k plan, Sara x
Thank you v much, psarapsych, for your kind words. I'm sure you can do your run tomorrow. Week 7 and 8 kind of dragged for me and that's when I did what others do, and started using my own music and Endomondo to measure my distance. The change was good and took my mind off the run! Best wishes - you can do it!
Thank you Oona... I've just started getting a play list together although, given that I'm 54, most of my songs are probably what the youngsters would call 'whatevah'!!! But there are still some good upbeat tunes to run to - Come on Eileen and anything Eddy Grant etc. so while I won't have some of those wonderful Rap songs I'm sure my play list will suffice to keep me enjoying myself.
Sooo... I'm psyching myself up for tomorrow and we'll see where that gets me. Apparently running before breakfast helps to shift the weight faster so I'm hitting the road early!!!
Ohhh. have you got the link to the Sam Murphy B210k that was originally put up on the forum by CaroleC? I managed to get hold of it the other day so can send you the link if you like. Cheers and thanks again, Sara x
Are you psarapsych because you're psychic? I've just been reading about B210k on someone else's blog and was thinking I'd have to look into it! Yes, please send the link, that would be great! Thank you v much!
