I graduated from C25K probably about a month ago, and since then have probably averaged 2-3 runs per week of 25-35 minutes. Absolutely delighted to have run 5k at 32m06 last week and feeling inspired - I'm 49 and this time last year was significantly overweight - and have always thought of myself as a terrible runner.
However, I'm struggling to find it motivating now that I'm outside of a set programme. I have tried the Nike 5k coach (good grief could he have been any more annoying?), tried running just with Strava telling me my 1/2k milestones, and have downloaded a couple of apps but finding them a bit soulless. I've found one which seems to take you from 0 - 5k, then up to 10k (with it being 8 weeks from starting the second part of the programme through to running 10k). Is it too soon for me to aim for being able to do this, do you think?

Congratulations on graduating from C25K, many graduates do the Stepping Stones podcasts with Laura which are pace, speed and stamina then if you wish to run a 10K go to Ju Ju's Magic 10 plan, not an app but a little like C25K, with a detailed weekly program, it's about nine weeks for you to get to run a 10K.
This guide to post C25k running healthunlocked.com/couchto5... will give you some tips and advice, but what you do is entirely up to you.
We recommend a period of consolidation at 30 mins/5k until you are truly comfortable with that before attempting to move onto longer duration or trying to speed up.
This is not compulsory, so again it depends on your general fitness level. It is always better to err on the side of caution rather than rush on regardless. Injury can stop you for days, weeks or even months.
Thanks. This is very good advice. I’ve only run 5k a handful of times so need to be careful. It’s finding the balance between enough challenge to get me out of the door and being cautious and not overdoing it!
Don't know how you feel about it, but my son uses a zombie run app. You're being chased be zombies, the louder they get, the faster you run, apparently. I've never tried it because I'm happy with Coach Bennett on the Nike running club app. Sorry to hear you didn't like him. 😞😆
