Was going to set out on w1r3 this morning. but just couldnt get up after a pretty disturbed night.

so, made an executive decision that although it would still be light (makes me sound like a Vampire!), I would set off on my run when the footie was on tv. Normally I'd sit on the sofa with me fella and read my book whilst he watches the footie, but this time I thought I'd make a real effort to get off the couch.

Had a drink of water and a banana whilst getting ready, Put me woolly hat on. MP3 player on and off I went out the front door. First time daylight running-! Blimey.

Got round the corner from my house and starting my warm up brisk walking. Then....panic! where was Laura? couldnt hear her reassuring me that I can do it!! What's going on. I rooted in my second sports bra for the player. (bet that looked funny!) checked it was on. Yep. I stopped. perplexed. What's going on?

Would help if I put my earphones in!!

Laura being heard in my ears, I carried on. Through the estate I passed still playing out children, people coming home from work, people generally pottering outside. I huffed and puffed passed them on my route. I started this programme thinking I was too embarrassed to get out there with people seeing me. But now, i can honestly say that being able to "zone out" concentrating on walking, running, breathing, just takes over and i hardly have chance to think about what I must look like (or sound like!).

Made it to the end of the podcast. Blimey!! that's the end of week 1 then. Wow!!

So. to celebrate, whilst I was in Sainsburys getting the loo roll we'd run out of at home (bet Laura didnt expect me to be multi-tasking in doing this programme!!), I got myself a little can of vodka and diet coke. Sorry peeps, but I think I needed a celebratory little tipple. (a step up from the hot chocolate that you had rfawag!!:-) )

I'll be celebrating with more than a little can when I finish this.

AND FINISH IT I ------ WE ------ WILL!!

Keep on going everyone

:-)

Yay, 1 week down and 8 to go for us. I am having a cheeky vino now to watch strictly with, so desecrating the temple that is now my body, lol! You/I/we will do this, and just think, we won't even have to make any new years resolutions to get fit. And now we have mondays tougher run to 'look forward to', I reckon we have earned a little treat at the weekend.

Brilliant blog - I loved that. It's so true about the zoning out isn't it? You know that this is serious when you couldn't give a flying duck about what other's think because you're so focussed on the running. I love that you downed a vodka and coke at the end! And I agree with everything that rfawag said - I too am enjoying more than a cheeky vino whilst watching strictly - I love anything now that demonstrates people pushing their boundaries and just bloody having a go - just like you did today.
