Well, all day I've been half looking forward and half dreading this run. But during my lunch break I went on 'walk jog run' website, set up an account and plotted a route which doesnt mean Im passing my house 3 times! (it was soooooo hard first time round not to just go home rather than do another loop....). Apparently the route I had planned would take me just to the 30 minute mark.

Id also planned to pick up tea from Aldi on my way back ....

So, after work, i sorted the new kitten out, fed the other older grumpy ones, waited for the fella to arrive home, heaved my way in to my two sports bras (my new one hasn't cut the mustard - I tried jogging on the spot in the bedroom and nearly knocked meself out before Id started!!) and then set out. It was just getting dark.

I did me warm up walk and then Laura said it was time to run. Bloomin eck I went straight in to it without thinking!! I didnt swear at her or anything! and then I did it again and again and again without moaning. Whats going on? I wont say it was easy but it was sure easier than the first time.

On the way round I passed a few fellow joggers (apparently they use my route) and we gave each other one of those little understanding nods (mine came with a wheeze!) Then I went through a housing estate and got the living daylights scared out of me by some little toe rags setting off fireworks (made me run faster for a few seconds :-)

Carried on past groups of people going out for the evening - Im sure I got a few stares pounding towards them but they dont know me, I dont know them and I sure as hell dont look like I do "ordinarily" whilst walking about town!! They wouldnt recognise me breathing normally and without me being red as a beetroot!!

Then I made it to Aldi. Just in time for Laura to say that it was all over. I was red in the face puffing and heaving and holding my chest like I was having a heart attack but I managed it round and picked up tea. I did stop and stare at their herbs and spices area- i didnt need any but I think I just needed to zone out for a bit!

Then I was home. Tea made, showered and now relaxing before bed.

Im aching but Im buzzing with the knowledge that Ive done it - again! Breathing still giving me trouble but Im still working on it (only my second run I have to remember - as if I can forget!) I dont know when I'll be doing my next run - depends what happens after work friday in which case I'll be out for a morning run Saturday. Gosh, that sounds really dedicated ...... :-0

We CAN do it!!

Aww AuntieAli, I love this blog. Well done!!!!

I so admire you going into Aldi straight after your run. I think they would dial 999 if they saw me in there straight after a run......or anywhere else for that matter :-)

Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. That'll be you in a few weeks :-)

& yes I'm still :-)......& waiting for my shiny new badge!!

Good luck & keep blogging.

Could not run today due to my knees hurting , but did walk for about a hour , some of it quick and some a bit slower.

Feeling much better now after taking pain killers , might be best to take them before going out .

what a shame, sorry to hear. but knees? wonder if you need this "gait" thing doing in relation to your trainers? just a thought.

I hope you get out again real soon. I may join you on the pain killers before heading out (but this time take some with food to save on the tremendous belly ache!!).

:-)

Well done, you/we did it! I am doing run 3 on saturday, as the weather forecast as it stands says it should be sunny round our way. Should be nicer than the thick fog yesterday! Congrats again, only one more then we're onto week 2 - yay!

rfaway - thank you and well done you too!!

Up our way they're saying snow for Saturday!! Swap you?! :-)

(although you know these weather forecasters ... scare us to blithery and then its nowt or dont warn us and its snow shoes and warmer undergarments!!)

How are you feeling about the next run?

Well done AuntieAli. I also did W1R2 last night and amazingly I found it easier than the first. I think I'd tried too hard with the running bit and took it a lot slower last night and managed ok even though thighs felt sore. Gave myself a pat on the back too just as Laura said, I was too knackered to do that on Monday!

Hi Isabella123,

thanks!!

an extra pat on the back from me to you!!

Glad it wasn't just me who thought second run easier!! thought I may have been doing something wrong! But then I too slowed my pace a little. Towards the end I thought I wasn't moving forward at all!!

Its all a learning curve and slow and steady is the key methinks - together with giving each other support on here.

Good luck with your next run and let us know how it went.

:-)
