Dumping laura

I have read a few posts where people have dumped laura for their own music I assume this is because they can run for 20 minutes or more non-stop. I would like to do this now to be honest as the music isnt great but would struggle timings wise i.e. when to stop running and when to start so will stick with laura until I can run for 30 minutes non-stop unless there is a way of putting your own music on with laura's prompts?

there is no way to add your own music to Laura's prompts. I've used a C25K app which uses the same plan as the NHS one, and plays your own music. I found it OK and definitely preferred the music, but it only tells you when to run and when to walk and I missed Laura's encouragement telling me I'm halfway through or only 60 seconds of running left etc!

I've started using the following app along with my own music.

splendid-things.co.uk/getru...

It uses the same plan as the NHS C25K and cuts in and tells you timings etc. I've used my own music a couple of time and can't see me going back to the podcast as my own music keeps me going.

No worries, I find it really useful now I'm getting towards the longer runs :-)

W6R3 for me tomorrow - will try it out then :-)

I started doing my own play lists after W7R2 because the remainder of runs are purely runs. It helps me to focus when I have to compose the play list to the correct amount of time and I can get an idea of how far through I am from the song that's playing.

Laura's songs were driving me nuts and I'm not sure she adds a lot of motivation once you're running non stop (though I can't be sure since I haven't heard them).

I think the moral is: Do what works for you.
