The podcasts are slowly but surely disappearing off my iPOD, it this because I've listened to them 3 times and then they have to self destruct, or am I just doing something wrong when I sync?
I'm normally fairly tech savvie, but I feel like a total luddite at the moment, what with iTunes and my Garmin

I think it may be part of Apple's protection/security, perhaps they are marked in some way to expire after a certain number of plays. It is very annoying
I haven't had podcasts disappear but I have had them suddenly stop about ten minutes into a run ... so annoying. I've also noticed that podcasts that I have previously downloaded now have the download arrow next to them, even though the podcast is actually there.
I've only had this since Apple updated to ios6 and introduced the separate Podcasts app. I've read quite a few people having problems with it as well so I guess it's just a case of waiting for an update. There are suggestions for workarounds that I might try in the meantime but there is no way if I am going to know if I am successful until I am back out for a run, and trying to mess around with an iPod whilst running and wearing gloves is not easy!!
I too have had this problem and think it is if you have listened to the podcast all the way through then next time you plug it into itunes on your pc and it syncs it then takes it off. It only happens to these ones, not the ones you havent listened to and not the ones where you have only partially listened to. For the latter it shows a little circle next to it that is half coloured in; if you right click it gives some options.
It might be something that happens to all podcasts but as I have never downloaded any prior to C25K I wouldnt know for sure.
