I have had this app for a long time and finally did my first run today. I had a very bad headache all day, otherwise really enjoyed it. Tops of legs abit tired now. Plan to do it again tomorrow and again on Saturday. Anyone have any advice?

Well done on your first run! I've only done 4 so I haven't got much advice to offer other than to keep on going - one run at a time.
Hi Orangepeel, the best piece of advice I can give you is listen to Laura! Believe her when she says you can do it! Don't worry if you have to repeat runs or take an extra days rest. Keep blogging, you'll get lots of support and encouragement on here! Good luck!
Welcome orangepeel!!! I have advice to offer, go slow...follow the plan as written. Take at least one rest day between runs. Come here often to this board! You will find such an awesome group of fellow runners to cheer you on and offer advice. We all come in different shapes, sizes, fitness levels and ages but we share a common bond of loving C25K!
Welcome, orangepeel!!! I wish that I had some incredible words of wisdom for you, but gdeann pretty much covered it!! (I am a bit partial to her advice, she is my wife!!) I will add one thing, though...KEEP RUNNING!!
I'll add my voice to the "Do as the programme tells you" messages - that means *not* running on consecutive days (your body has work to do to help you in your next run and if you go two days running it can't do it), not going fast (success not speed is what you're after at this stage).... and it sounds from the headache as though you may need to pay close attention to having a drink of water afterwards?
Well done on taking that first step my advice would be to try not to focus on speed and go at a slow and steady pace. I don't know when you run but I run on empty in the mornings and find a class of water helps to stop stitch.
You'll be bitten by the running bug before you know it !
We all have had those moments when we feel great and so want to do it again ASAP. I can't stress how important it is for your body to be given the time to adjust to the new demands you are placing on it....running again too soon could cause injury and a long lay off period....due to my size I sometimes have to leave 2 days in between....it's all about looking after yourself and not pushing your body too hard too soon.
Enjoy your runs, I love mine as not only can I feel myself getting fitter, but I also get to set the world to rights whilst running in my own little bubble....
See you at the finish line.
The only thing I would add to all above is just to trust the programme. When Laura asks you to do the impossible, you really CAN do it. It's actually part of the delight of the process that when you hear 5/8/20 minutes, whatever, not to be daunted, don't let fear be an excuse to put it off and when you do it the feeling is amazing. A mini reward for your efforts.
Should you have a bad run tho, don't worry about that either. We've all had them. The mantra on here is there's no such thing as a bad run if you went out and ran. So take heart and go out and enjoy it!
