Spurred on by her recent graduation Miss Bean#2 did her first junior triathlon today. She was hampered by a very heavy mountain bike and watched the other entrants overtake her on road bikes but she didn't loose heart and kept going to the end of the run and even managed a sprint finish.

Wow tell her well done from me, what an achievment in such a short time too. Just a point, we used to have mountain bikes as we used to cycle up glens then climb munro's in our younger days. My hubby bought me road tyres for just road cycling and he used to swap them over for me, it made road cycling much easier, may be something you could look into for her. Much cheaper than a new bike if she really wants to progress in ernest. The tread isn't as deep and wide as track tyres.
