Off topic - Is everyone managing to stay safe after the terrible storms and rain?

The rain has stopped, the wind has dropped thank goodness. Lots of braches off trees some trees down. This mornings run was more a trundle to avoid all the wet slippy leaves and small branches.

Is everyone managing to stay safe and their homes OK, I do hope so?

Yes, I am very lucky to live on a bit of a hill, so floods not so bad for me. Although journey into work a bit harrowing. Got totally soaked on last two runs though but managed to dodge the really bad stuff! Hope everyone else is ok.

All good here, managed to escape the worst. Hope everyone else has managed to stay safe and not been affected by the floods.

I had a very sodden cycle home from work today. Not only was it absolutely bucketing it down, but I got repeatedly drenched down my right hand side every few minutes by cars going through puddles at speed - nice.. Also I know what you mean with leaves and small branches, they were particularly hazardous today, nearly lost my balance a few times!

Glad it is my running rest day and I was able to just take a shower and cosy up inside with a brew!

I meant to also add that luckily we have escaped any flooding, but just seen pictures of York (a place very close to my heart) and despite them being used to the Ouse flooding they are really suffering this year. Hope the weather sorts itself out soon!

I live in the U.S. no storms here but I have been sending prayerful thoughts to all of you.

Fine here thankfully. There are a few trees down and lots of leaves and branches everywhere but nothing compared to those flats on the news tonight bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-t...

We got flooded back in 2007, but this time round we seem to be OK so far as the worst of it seems to be up north.

On holiday in our caravan in Cornwall. Loads of wind and rain, sodden ground, no real big trees to fall down where we are. The in-laws in the north east are having a real bad time of it. Hope you're all safe. Xx

Heard the shocking news of a young boy struck by lightening yesterday while waiting outside the school for a parent to pick him up :( These weather conditions are terrible but this one brings home the dangers runners are in during storms so be aware and stay inside if there is thunder and lightening about.
