Week 7 done and dusted but oh ... that was quite tough.

I knew the weather was going to make this run a tough one but after what felt like such a success last time on the hilly route, all I had to do this morning was run for the same amount of time but on the flat. It couldn't be that difficult surely.

But oh it was. I don't mind the rain so much but I felt like I was running against the wind the whole time. Also, though I was breathing properly, my chest didn't feel too great, almost as if I'd smoked a pack of twenty cigarettes on the town last night. But I don't remember the last time I had a night on the town! And then the terrible side stitch returned!

Anyway looking on the bright side. Though I felt like giving up on several occasions, I ran(or plodded) 2.45 miles in 25 minutes and 49 secs. This was also the first time in weeks I've run without the ankle support and my ankle seems to have survived. Finally after about 2 minutes walking in the warm down I felt much better, almost as if I could go and do it all again. Finally checking my stats I wasn't as slow as I thought I was. In fact it was a very mild improvement. Didn't feel like it!

Week 8 here I come.

Well done! and roll on W8 :)

I know exactly how you feel about the wind. I got very wheezy and couldn't seem to get enough air in this morning when going up the hills and I'm sure it was the wind that caused it. I can take the hills and the rain but the wind, no thanks

I know how you feel too, and I'm worried that as the weather gets colder this'll get worse. Going on a treadmill might be the only answer for me in the depths of winter but I can't say I fancy it much.

You're right to look on the bright side, Pelephant - you've just got six more runs to go!

Good luck with W8!

I hate the wind too. Although on the positive you can think of it as resistance training. Think how quick you'll go without it. ;-)

Welcome to week 8! I do run 1 tonight and am getting nervous! Wind is the worse but true, maybe it is like a bit of resistance training. Awesome job on you're time/ distance! If all works out, we will be graduating at the same time.
