Outside world was all looking a bit wet and sodden after the thunder and lighting overnight, and it was still raining so decided to wimp out and use the treadmill for w8r3, again set on my tough 5 deg incline.
Also decided I was ready to run for 30 minutes, so from the outset I told myself I was going to do an extra couple of minutes on top of Jo Whiley's 28. After the usual tough 5 minutes or so, I got into my stride and, by Jo's halfway pep-talk, I knew that I was going to be able to do 30.
So yes, I was very hot and sticky by the end (it's that sort of weather), but I got there and didn't feel like I was killing myself - heart rate all under control etc.
With the end of the programme only a week away (!!!), I'm beginning to think about how long I'll have to run to get to 5k. Hard to judge real pace/distance on the treadmill, but Strava thought the pace was 12 minute miles - that's the same as my outdoor runs, so probably correct. So I did 2.5 miles today in half an hour, which would mean about 37-38 minutes for a 5k.
Feels like a 5k will soon be within reach - who'd have thought it, eh?
