I finally did it
Thank you C25K. Thank you NHS. Thank you to this wonderful community. Feels like the speech when one's receiving an award, right?
C25k has changed my complete outlook on running. Trust me, I've tried running before. But it was always a run/walk and never had this structure. Today, my day revolves around when my run is going to be.
I think the key winning point of this program is the faith that you can go to the next step. That you CAN go from running two stretches of 8 minutes one run to 20 minutes at a stretch the next. It takes care of the mental blocks. Others have done it, and so can you.
My final run (of the plan) yesterday was amazing. I cheated a bit by using the stepping stone podcast from c25k+ the previous run and this one and I found that just wonderful. I was able to maintain pace and did not find my struggling and dragging my body to complete the minutes. I was able to pick up pace, and I went further than I ever have.
I'm far from 5K, but that's a great next goal to have, right??
