well i gave it a go but not impressed with myself...3.35Km in 26 mins.. The 1st 10 minutes i struggled to get my breathing and pace right then it all seemed to fall into place and the rest of it went like a dream..Why do i find it so hard to start with. Think i'm going to give it another go on Sunday..I'm sure i can do better.

Hi 7ermintrude, week 7 is three 25 minute runs so you get plenty of practise! I found I was running further by the end of them, sometimes it was easier than other times but that was more just me or the weather or how muddy the pathway was...

I always struggle for a bit about 5 minutes in, then my breathing settles down a bit but in gaps between songs I can still hear myself breathing heavily... :-)

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Its not just you 7ermintrude, I asked a question a while ago, "How long does it take to settle down into a comfortable stride pattern"? It was interesting to see some runners take 5-10 minutes which is what I find some days. The more you relax the easier it will become and everything will click into place.

I'm sure my legs have a mind of their own and must know which way I turn when I go out the house: left and it's about 8 minutes every time to settle, and right they settle almost straight away. Funny because in either direction it's almost flat for about half a mile lol

Truth be told, it must be psychological with me because there is an 80ft hill climb on the left turn route ;)

I'm only on the first week, but I also find it much harder to start with than it is to finish... it's nice to know that's normal, I wasn't sure!

Your time and distance sound great to me!!! I find it takes me 5-6 minutes to settle in and also the second half of my run seems to go faster then the first half. Week 6 was a rough one for me. Good luck to you in week 7! :-)

I take about 5 minutes to settle into a run as well, those 5 minutes are me thinking 'crikey this is hard, I could go home now...' But now I've figured it out I won't let my body give up on me.
