Well done everyone for getting to day 8.

I decided to run through my ankle pain today, ran a 5K and have walked and cycled another 5 all at the gym but still that's all right.

Ankle doesnt feel any worse shame it doesn't feel any better. Its ok when I am moving, just hurts when I stop.

Had a leisurely approx 5k walk round Leuchars yesterday then had friends over last night. After copious amounts of champagne went to bed about 2.15am. Got up this morning and hubby drove us to town to watch my nephews Olympic parade and to see his gold postbox. Decided to go for lunch with rest of family so went to get car....and went the wrong way to get it so ended up walking miles! Great, it wasn't planned but got an impromptu walk. Well finally got back to car, drive towards home and got a puncture! So tomorrow hubby will take my wheel on way to work and get a tyre, I have an appointment which is 6 miles away so am going to fast walk it. (hate buses). Roll on Tuesday for another run....At least the Ks are mounting up.

I joined the walk leader and others from the local community to walk in the large forest on the edge of the village. We followed mainly wide forest tracks (that I shall return to by bike or maybe run before the end of the 5x50 Challenge), then left the forest and out onto the open moorland. We speculated about grouse shooting and deer poaching and the chances of any 'guns' being out and about on a Sunday.

The walking on the moor was off-track and very slow as we were stepping over knee-high heather (the estate certainly don't practice muir-burn in this area) and quite tiring because of this. We climbed a wee hill to a rather indistinct top at 407m and dropped down back to the forest again to return on a different track.

All in all, a very pleasant walk in which we discussed everything from water purity (we passed our public water supply) to landownership to local politics.
