5x50 Day 11

Walked and run 80K so far and feel pretty good so far.

Blisters are recovering and the 5.5k I ran yesterday I did 10 minutes faster than my previous 5k run.

My time is still embarrasingly slow but I well please with it.

Somehow already walked 7k today without even trying.

How is everyone else getting on?

You're doing fantastic George!!!! :-) Don't worry about slowness,,,welcome to the club!!! The faster I try to run,the more I feel like I am staying in one spot with my legs spinning. :-) Glad the blister is recovering. Its amazing how something so small can hurt so bad. The challenge for us has been an eye opener. Just trying to incorporate some form of activity daily into our lifestyle plus I still find it difficult for me to wrap my head around the fact I run a 5K. After walking it, it seems so much longer then I ever dreamed possible of running! :-) Cheers to you and all of the other 5x50 Teammates!!!!! Gayle

Whenever I walk one of my running routes I am always a bit surprised at how far it seems.

Not long finished run number 12. Been really pleased so far ... only had one "bad" run where it was a slog to finish but apart from that it's been great :-)

A run every day, I am impressed, I think my knees would burst if I ran every day.

I saw your pie chart on the MalcyMeter - one solid colour of running!! Very impressive and big respect to you!

I'm trying hard to complete all the 5x50 challenge with runs. I'd signed up before the team came about but really appreciate being part of a joint effort :-)

Well done you! I hope you achieve your goal with no injury. Yes being part of a team is so encouraging and motivating.

Those powerful pasties are still doing a good job then! 12 consecutive runs - wow! :)

I am struggling. I have been running (3x week) and cycling the other days. I had hoped that the challenge would help my stamina but tonight my normal run was 2 mins slower than usual!

I only ran twice this week but have walked lots, I found when I ran yesterday it felt like I had a lot of extra energy.

I think I will try walking 2 days between runs and see how I get on next week.

Isnt it just amazing how the kms soon mount up? I'm sure you felt the same last year. I think we are all doing brilliantly and I'm so proud of our team! :)

It certainly is a challenge but I am loving it! I have run the last 2 days and had great runs; dont know how long I could keep that up though! :O My walking has increased too as I ditch the bus and even the car!

Well done on knocking 10 minutes off your 5K+ time. I noticed I was fitter today on my cycle and managed some hills that I hadn't managed last week.

BTW Did MrsGeorge42 manage to complete C25K?

No, she gave up at week 9, run 2.

I don't think running is for her, I think she should have at least finished it though.
