I've just begun the c25k and have done my first ever run!
I honestly doubted my ability to run for 30 seconds let alone a whole minute but I managed it and I DIDN'T die!
Plus the endorphin rush and the sense of achievement was immense. It's a small victory I guess but a giant leap for me!
I'm now gearing up for run number 2 later today.
At this stage I cannot imagine myself running for 30 mins. It seems an unachievable goal to me. However, after reading umpteen testimonies from people who are at worse starting points than me who have continued to surprise themselves I will put my faith in the podcasts, trust in Laura and just do my best. After all, what have I got to lose? (Except a stone or two in flab!).
Wish me luck......

When I started I had never been fit in my life and could barely manage to run for 60 secs. I took about 3 weeks before I plucked up the courage to move on to W2. Yet here I am a graduate and genuinely able to run for 30 mins + (albeit still slowly - working on speed!). If you stick with Laura, run 3 times a week and don't be discouraged if you have a bad run or need to repeat a run or even a week you WILL get there! Promise. Check back in now and then to let us know how you are getting on. Happy running.
I was 41 when I did the c25k and very overweight. I had been walking a lot before starting the podcast but couldn't run from 1 lamppost to the next. Now I can run for 90 minutes and am much fitter. My speed has never really improved though since I finished.
