I have never carried water, and I breathe through my nose (so do nto lose water through mouth and panting), what do others do? Lady ran past me yesterday morning ( I am a plodder) with a litre bottle of water, now that is showing off.

Drink when you're thirsty.

If you're out running and you find you get thirsty, then take water with you. Otherwise it really is not necessary for shorter runs unless it's very hot

I find it's a bit of a balance, between getting thirsty and how annoying it is to run whilst carrying water - I'm up to Week 9 now and do carry a small bottle when it's really hot, but otherwise just drink a load of water before I start and have a bottle in the car at the end.

I found a bottle in "Go Outdoors" that has a strap and a small pocket to take a key - so whilst you hold it in your hand, you don't have to grip it too tightly... it's the best solution I've fond so far, but I still found it uncomfortableish...

I love to carry a 300ml bottle of ice cold water (with nice pink bottle top!) because it keeps my hands nice and cool - otherwise I have swollen hands by the end of the run and I can then drink it on my 10 mins cool down walk. I do a ten mins cool down walk so that I can avoid not having to walk up the hill until I really do have my breath back. Ready to start week 9 now - Eeeek!

I really don't like carrying water and hate running when it's hot, so I get up early, have a drink of water before I leave and one when I get back. I did 10k 3 times last week doing this and broke my personal best 5k and 10k records this morning in the same way. I started c25k in February definitely in the "couch" camp and it's taken me a long time to realise it really is worth getting up early and running when it's cooler, I highly recommend it.

Good running :-)

The rule of thumb is that you need start thinking about re-hydrating and re-fuelling if you're running for more than an hour. Less than that and loading up beforehand is fine. People differ, mind you, so whatever works really.

I carry my drink of water using a Karrimor belt that holds two small bottles and has a pocket big enough for your key, phone and a couple of tissues and emergency cash. It hardly moves when running so it is very comfortable.

Read somewhere that unless you're running for longer than 30 mins you don't need it. I don't take anything right now! Will in the future tho' when I'm at that level. Seen those hand held water carriers that you grip and fit round you hand, prob try those. ;)
