I did it!

It's taken me weeks and weeks to do this C25K, but I have done it!! I am so chuffed with myself. A 57 year old doing sport 40 years late...can hardly believe it! My workplace is right next to a beautiful country park, and twice a week I have been crawling through the hedge into the park with 2 much younger colleagues, and running through woods, past streams, a lake, football pitches, golf course, tennis and bowls courts, playground. It's been fantastic and given me a HUGE lease of new life!

This afternoon I ran 3.95K in 30 minutes, which isn't toooo bad. Our next mission is to try to extend the run to make it up to 5K.

Thank you to everyone on this brilliant blog....so encouraging and inspiring. I'm going to use the 5K+ podcast now to increase my speed.

Thanks again to you all!

Well done! It's such a lovely feeling when you finally complete it and as good when you receive your badge. Good luck with the 5k+ podcast.

Well done. It's an amazing programme. I graduated last week with my husband and he is the big 60 next Tuesday! I haven't tried the 5k+ yet as I'm doing 5k runs ready to tackle a park run on Saturday. Good luck with them and let us know how you get on. xxx

Thank you all SO much for your fab comments!! I do live in a beautiful place. My weekend runs are from my house onto to the prom and beach (if the tide is out!). I treated myself to a Garmin GPS watch, so I am planning to work out some 5K circular routes, to vary my runs.

My younger colleagues are much fitter than me, so I usually set out 10 minutes ahead of them, they overtake me, and arrive back at the office 5 minutes before me!!

Can't wait to get my badge!

Wonderful to hear how much you are enjoying your running. I think your environment has a huge impact on the enjoyment factor... Boring old treadmills are a last resort. Congrats on graduating and happy running!
