So today I did w5r2, which I've been DREADING since about halfway through week 4 ("If I struggle with 3 minutes, how on earth am I supposed to run for 8??"), and, to my great surprise, I managed it quite easily. I think maybe it was so successful today BECAUSE I've been dreading it so much, as in the first 8 minutes I really paced myself and that seriously payed off in the later stages. Lesson learned there, I think
However, today's runner's high was shortlived, as our rickety old boiler (which has long been in its death throes) gave its final "clunk" and ceremoniously ceased working just as I started running the bath. Washing long hair in a sink = NOT FUN.
However, I refuse to let an ancient piece of machienery stand between myself and total satisfaction with today's run. I am now no longer terrified of the forthcoming 20 minute run, and not being afraid of the running bits is a major step for me so hooray!
