R1 was not the easiest but I wasn't listening to the podcast and realised that I would need to slow down if I wanted to complete all the reps.
R2 I had downloaded the podcast and jogging along with Laura certainly makes a difference and I kept an eye on the pace too and felt really good afterwards.
R3 was really good.
Speed wise I'm definitely in the tortoise brigade but I really don't mind that, I can always work on that later. Right now I'm just happy to be taking the first steps towards getting fitter.
Am really looking forward to starting W2 now.

Well done! I have just completed my 3rd run of week 1. I feel really good to have completed it. Laura does make a difference. It is good to be able to concentrate on the running and what your body is telling you without having to calculate times etc.
As you say it is so much easier to simply listen to Laura rather than clock watch. I don't even bother wearing the sports watch that I'd previously bought especially for jogging now.
I was the same, thought that getting faster was a good thing, until i realised it was more of a struggle to make it until the end. And the tortoise did win the race in the end!!!
And please don't worry about speed or lack of! This programme gets you running - I did my first 10k race this morning and I was a fat fifty year old who hadnt run since leaving school 35 years ago before I started this! I was really really slow, didnt get to 5k until weeks after graduating, but am definitely getting faster slowly (if that makes sense!).
This programme has shown me how determined I can be when I put my mind to it!
