Well, 3 runs to go now. I've definitely settled into this at this stage, the best thing about it is I've finally learnt to enjoy it and not wonder when I can stop with every passing minute!

I guess today is like the curate's egg, good in parts. (Does anyone else remember that expression?) Well actually, the only not good bit is that I'm no faster...still averaging 10 minutes a kilometre, which is pretty damn slow, let's be honest here!

But the good news, and the reason I'm feeling pretty good right now, is that my aim today was not to go faster, but to go longer...and I did. I ran for 40 minutes and covered just over 4k. All of it felt very comfortable. One day, maybe, I'll try to go faster, but not yet because I'm very, very happy with what's happening at the moment. I ran further and longer than I ever thought possible today, and I'm really looking forward to W9!

Happy running all...off to the hot tub/cool tub after a well earned coffee. 😁

Brilliant, well done you! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I like the description β€˜curate’s egg’ πŸ˜€

Hopefully, most of it was good! πŸ˜€

It seems like you are exactly where you should be. And 4K as well! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

And of course it’s not about pace, anyway, I’m only just beginning to realise that πŸ˜‰ You are running at your own pace, which is exactly what you should be doing. It’s great that you are enjoying it! You are amazing 😘 x

I don't know about amazing, but I am amazing myself!

Going slow really was the breakthrough. And that's thanks to all the advice and support on here.

Hope the post grad runs are still going well. X

Yes, they are πŸ™ Mixing up the runs. I’ve taken a second rest day because of the heat, but I’ll probably run tomorrow and do a shorter, faster run. Maybe 2 or 3K. Saturday another long, very slow run, maybe an hour. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜˜

When I ran for an hour on Saturday, I think I gave a whole new meaning to β€˜slow’ and it was wonderful! 😊

Me too - but as I read often here - that's what we should be doing! Today I did W8R1 and extended the recovery walk to get to 5k so it took me 44 mins. But I did that 28 mins running no problem. We've got this!
