Started couch to 5k this morning. Had a glass of water at 7:30 and headed out the door. Lovely morning and a few other walkers/runners out. I'm not usually out at that time so was great to see the calm before the tourist storm along the beach. Was a little harder than I thought it would be! I think my pace was too fast on the first 2 runs, slowed it down a little and was able to maintain that speed for the final runs. In all you run for a total of 8 mins on the first day (and the next 2 days). Felt the energy disappearing on the final 2 runs, might have a banana or something beforehand next time, but made it through and after the final 5 min warmdown felt energised. Had a quick dip in the sea to cool down, back home for a bath and breakfast and started work. Really pleased with myself and can't wait for the next session, only drawback is I have to have a rest day tomorrow!

Thanks! See you're also on the coast, gives an extra bit of motivation I think!

Sounds like you've made an ideal start! Also good that you've recognised your pace was too quick and you slowed down - this will come in useful in the later weeks! :)

Keep up the good work - you'll soon get to Week 9! :)
