Hi all, wk5 day 1 done tonight ... Had a little trouble when my ipod switched to wk5 day 3 almost half way through second run, so had brief stop to return to wk5 day 1 - and then again during last minute of final run when iPod started playing week 2 - ran til felt sure I'd finished the minute then switched back during cool down walk. Can only think I was more energetic than normal and my ipod was bouncing about too much? Anyway, pleased that my ipod was the only problem, legs ok (mostly) and breathing ok :-) did feel cautiously strong and capable on run 1 tonight :-) making progress... It's a big week this week... Oo-er

Well done for not giving up with the slight hiccough. I was like you, a little surprised at how strong I was on the first run. I have just done run2 of wk5 and felt good. Now for the big one on Thursday. Good luck and keep running. "You can do this".

Thanks Maturelady :-) good luck on Thursday! Laura hasn't been wrong yet regarding what I can do and it sounds like she's been spot on for you too? I'm looking forward to run 2 on Weds and will look out for your run 3 post on Thurs! :-)

Well done, r3 won't be as difficult as you think and the good thing is you only need to know when you have done the 20 minutes, don't really need any other technology.

Thanks Coddfish :-) sort of looking forward to runs 2&3... The program's been excellent so far in pulling me through each stage and each time I've been able to do more than I thought I could, so fingers crossed for Weds and Sat :-)

I'm so pleased that most if not all of you lot who started in January are still here, and helping each other through. You have my respect for staring in the rotten cold weather we had this year! well done, and good luck xx

I also did Week 5 run 1 last night too. I also has phone problems - Laura didn't desert me but my music did so my last run was in silence along the lanes a 6pm :( just me and my breathing. I did think about stopping and sorting it out but then Laura said I was half way through and I thought that by the time I had sorted it out I would have lost my momentum so I just carried on. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I thought it was the distraction of music that was getting me through but it seems I can do it with or without the music :). Nice to hear some one is on the same runs as me.

Hi Stef,

It is nice to know somebody is on the same time frame as me :-) I'm finding that reaching landmarks is a driver for me - reach that car, that lamp post etc... feels like I'm 'eating up' the distance if that makes sense. When are you doing run 3? Mine's scheduled for Saturday... good luck, I'll keep my eyes open for your posts :-)

I know what you mean. For me its that pub that house the bus shelter etc. Small milestones but they seemed unachievable in week 1 :-) . I am looking at Friday night or Saturday morning for run 3. It depends on how work goes and the weather. Good luck. I will look out for your post. I am sure we can both do it :-)
