Just thought I'd post tonight before my first run back after injury. I havent been able to run for over a month after injuring my ankle (very frustrating) and tonight I'm going to try again.
I had been up to week 6 when I had to stop but obviously I can't start again from that stage so I'm going to try from week 3. I literally have no idea where my fitness level will be. I tried doing Aqua Running a few times whilst I was injured but not enough to make a dent.
I'm quite nervous actually...! Wish me luck....!!

Good luck! You'll be surprised how much fitness you have retained. Do listen to your ankle if it starts complaining ...better a strategic retreat than to reinjure yourself.
Well done to you - i've just returned to running after having six weeks off with a slipped disc and fractured sternum ouch - I was on W5R3 but went back to week one thought it would be better not to push it. I admit it's frustrating - now on W2R2 and once again enjoying it good luck to you ...listen to your body
The run went very well....! KANdoit you're right, it's surprising how much fitness you retain. W3R1 (take 2) was quite comfortable and I felt strong with no ankle niggles.
It sounds silly (and I've no idea if it's of any use) but I tried to monitor how I was running a lot more than previously (apparently I supinate). And I'm going to keep a close eye on the ankle and how it feels.
redfacewoman...poor you but hey how great that you have 'got back on the horse'. Just shows how addictive this thing is! Well done you. I shall look out for your posts
