Not my finest half hour...

but I managed to complete Week 5 Run 2.

After run 1 on Monday I was buzzing and probably a bit too confident about this one. I must have set off too fast because the last minute of the 1st run was hell. Then you woud have thought I had learnt my lesson but obviously not because by the end of the 2nd run I felt sick! I managed to keep going though and even did the 5 minute walk at the end.I think if I had stopped I wouldn't have got back to the car.

I am now nowhere near confident about the dreaded run 3. Someone tell me it is doable and I can do it. Please!

You can do it! We felt like that after wk 6 run 2 but the programme does work, I promise! I couldn't run across the room when I started and now I'm facing wk 6 run 3. Run 3 on week 5 isn't as bad as you build it up in your head, just take is steady, remember to breath and you will be fine. Look forward to hearing how you get on x

Thanks! I usually run with the dog but I think on Saturday I'll leave her at home so I can totally focus on my speed and breathing.

It's definately doable! As long as you pace yourself you will be fine. It sounds like you knew that you set off too fast for this one, so if you start off a bit slower you can always speed up at the end if you have the energy :)

Enjoy this run, you CAN do this!

Check out all the week5r3 blogs for confidence buiders and tackle it by telling yourself it's 2 runs of 8 minutes joined up with the interval walk and you can go as slowly as you like. It gives you time to build up a rhythm in the way that the earlier runs didn't, so you identify when it feels good and focus on keeping hold of that feeling. And when it's over, you'll find it will be a real boost and for the first time, you begin to think you might be able to make a success of this running lark. Go for it :)
