Week 1 run3 felt much harder than R1! I only managed 4 of the runs and think I only ran for 50seconds instead of 60! Shins hurt a little so have been doing 'toe taps' to help. I feel like I will have to repeat W1 as stamina not improving. Any suggestions? I have Ben running into the wind today which was hard too. I will keep on with it though.

The wind has a big impact, so well done today! Remember to stretch after the warm up walk and after your runs, this might help with the shins.

Maybe do the week again so that you feel really confident to move on. Try to do the runs at a slwer pace so that you finish the full 60 seconds.

Keep on going! We're all here behind you and you can do it!

Is your course flat enough? Go as slowly as you need to complete the seconds and try to increase the pace of your walks because they are really going to improve stamina. Aim for a pace which is just short of a trot and then your run just has to be a little faster than that. Also, try and adopt that same pace (faster, shorter steps are better than strides) in your daily walking. You're doing well and it sounds as if you're committed so you'll do it! :)

My shins also hurt during week 1 so I followed advice and went and bought proper running trainers which really helped. Completed week 1 podcast, 5 times in total until I thought I could do it and have sailed along since. I am not what you would call speedy but can keep going. Have made it to week 5 and am going to attempt the 20 minute run on Friday which 6 weeks ago I would scoffed at anyone who suggested I should even attempt that! As you say just keep trying. You can do it!
