Well last night was interesting. Due to unforseeable delays it was 10pm by the time I got out last night and raining heavily. So my first piddling down night time jog was interesting and I learnt a few things.
Shoelaces come undone much quicker in the wet, (even double knots)
Rain/waterproof coats and earphones do not mix,
Glasses steam up making it impossible to see
Its very dark with no streetlights
(blindingly obvious sorry but worse with after having to take the glasses off!)
But I actually enjoyed it (must be nuts). The rain distracted me from wondering how much further and the lack of vision was actually quite funny. As I'm self-concious I try to avoid meeting other people when running, but last night I nearly changed route to avoid the local 'yoof' who turned out to be a bush and street light
The new sports bra did its job but <ahem> I still seem to be in the habit of resting my very average chest on my arms to minimise joggling (another reason to avoid meeting people!). May account for the surprising arm toning effect jogging has had though. Perhaps I'll continue with it!
