So far for me (2 weeks post graduation!) I have hated the first 5 minutes of every single run! I never think I can finish and ask myself why I am out here anyway. Then I get into a rhythm, find my pace and I'm off. I think I just have to resign myself to toughing it out for the first 5 mins! Yuo are still building up the running time every week. I have found that I can now run on a bit after Laura says stop and have completed 5 K a couple of times so the last 5 mins does get better
Yes my last blog I said the same, first five minutes are tough. I think as were so new to this all it takes a while to get into a comfortable rhythm, but I found with my last run wk7 run3 I just made myself think of all the surroundings around me and enjoying the moment instead of thinking about the time and it helped. Good luck with your next one.
I have to say I find the first 5-10 mins of every run the toughest and I know that from other blogs / questions that have been raised that this isn't uncommon.
