First 'fail' - down but not out...

Ran on my own today w7r3. Knew I could do it - had done the two previous ones which were tough but achieveable.

5 minutes from the end lower calves begin to complain. I slowed my pace even more and carried on. 3 minutes from the end CALVES ARE SHOUTING and I'm lolloping rather than jogging. Thought about dragging myself through to the end but wondered if that was really wise, so stopped a that point and limped off home.

Humph!. Thought I'd got that sorted a couple of weeks ago! Wondering what I did that was different this time. Might have been a little faster than usual so maybe I pushed myself further than I was ready for.

Not defeated... but maybe resting again for a couple of days. Bring on the ibuprofen and arnica gel.... and that song by Chumbawamba :)

You nearly got there! Have a rest and you'll get it next time.

Yes give yourself an extra days rest, rub in lots of gel and take it slowly on the next one, you'll do it.

Thank you MuirDragonne and newyorker570! This is such an encouraging site - reading other people's ups and downs makes you realise it's worth keeping going
