OMG just completed my first attempt at couch to 5k! It's my 40th Birthday in December and I am on a mission to get fit and look good in my party dress! Thought I was going to have a heart attack half way through and it's taken me an hour to stop looking like a beet root! I really hope this works, and I can still manage to walk tomorrow!
Week 1 Run 1: OMG just completed my first... - Couch to 5K
Week 1 Run 1
Well aboard, and you are not alone regarding your experience with W1 R1. I personally was hoping my ears would turn into gills so I could breathe more air. I must have sweated away 3 or 4 pounds, and my knees and ankles were sore as all get out. My legs were sore the next day too, but I was all good for the second run the following day. I think I did the runs in W1 4 or 5 times before moving on. Remember, the goal is to be able to run 30 minutes consecutively or 5k, and not completing the runs based upon a suggested schedule.
I have seen significant improvement every week, and you will, too. There will be challenges, but keep your eye on the prize, and you will reap the reward.
Congratulations on starting - you'll be well fit by December !
Well done for completing day one, I'm still trying to find the courage to take that fist step.
Welcome, and congratulations on starting, you should find your next run slightly easier, remember it is all about comleting the time not about covering the distance, so take it slowly and you will be fine. I found my shape has changed even though the weight loss has been slow, my advise will be find a tape measure and measure yourself cause it wont be long before the inches start going, and therefore you will look great come your 40th, Good luck and keep running
Hi, well done. I have just done day 2 of week one. The first day was fine. I took it slowly and got into the music and it was ok. I surprised myself by not collapsing into a panting heap. So slowly does it is the motto.
you'll be looking great! just have to keep going!!
