Week 4 Run 2 - Why is it suddenly so hard?

Just got back managed the run or should I say the slowest run ever in the history of running! Don't know why but this one nearly finished me off. I did the first run of this week on Tuesday and it was obviously harder than the previous week but ok but today it was awful I knew I just had to complete it or I wouldn't go out again. I've never ran in the middle of the day before and it was very warm so hoping its just that. I've been enjoying it up til now which is very strange as I'm allergic to exercise! I need to get my head in a better place before run 3 but yay I'm still alive! :)

Its the heat.... It's a killer to run in it when you're not used to it. Don't beat yourself up because you still did it, even though it almost stopped you ;)

Thanks not used to sun so I'll blame the weather!

Oh, the heat definitely will affect your performance. I know when I've run in very hot temperatures it felt as if I had weights on my legs. If possible, try to run in morning on warm days, or in the late evening. I can assure you that when you do the next run in cooler weather you will see a significant improvement.

Also remember that there is no failing in this program. Each session is a mini-goal to be achieved while you are improving your health. If you cannot complete a particular session on your first (or second, or third) attempt just keep trying until you succeed. You will feel so fulfilled knowing that you stuck with it and overcame a hurdle. You are not alone, almost everyone in this community has experienced struggles during this program. Keep on keepin' on!

Heat is a killer but remember sometimes everything clicks and you have a brill run and sometimes it doesn't. The plan is designed to challenge you so logically some runs will be harder than others - but however a run goes you are winning because you went out and ran. No more couch! Good luck with your next run.
